Iron Man 3 kicked-off “Phase 2″ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but filmmaker Shane Black’s Tony Stark adventure was mostly a standalone comic book movie (with some Avengers references for good measure). The next Phase 2 installment, Thor: The Dark World, takes a different approach; that is, the God of Thunder’s sequel not only addresses Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) fate after he launched an attack on Earth, it also reveals in full the breakdown of stability in the Nine Realms (after the Bifrost was destroyed in the first Thor movie).
